guru vAsitO suralu ninu vaDi mechchErayya ||

You are the great child of Kousalya and Dasaradha and the elder brother of Bharata. You are the protector of Vedic sacrifices. You learnt excellent skills in archery from Sage Viswamitra. The celestials applaud your great deeds.

dAruNa veera SEkhara dharma pAlaka
kAruNyaratnAkara kAkAsura varada
sAreku vEda vidulu jaya veTTErayyA ||

You destroyed the demons Mareecha and Subahu. and annihilated the demon Tataki. You are relentless hero in protecting Dharma. and also ocean of compassion. You pardoned Kakasura. Learned Vedic pundits praise you.
